How to Connect Your TV

How to connect your TV without calling the Geek Squad:

HDMI

HDMI

This type of connection is available on most newer televisions and is starting to appear on computers as well. HDMI will carry the audio and video signals from the computer. HDMI is going to be your best option for high quality.

S-Video

S-Video

This option provides good (not great) quality. With this option, you will have to connect separate cables for audio. The audio cables will connect your computer's headphone jack to the audio inputs on your TV that correspond to the S-Video cable input.

After your connections are made to the TV, you'll need to select the appropriate input on your TV. You may also need to set the output on your computer to feed the TV. This can generally be accomplished by pressing the FN key and F8 simultaneously on a PC. A Mac will respond differently than a PC. In some cases, the Mac will automatically detect the external output.

That's it! Now sit back and enjoy the service...
